Waking up slowly, no alarms, snuggling up with someone. The smell of coffee in the air, knowing you can take your sweet time making your way into the kitchen to make something scrumptious for breakfast. For me, sleeping in is Sunday morning, which is also my ‘calories don’t count’ day. Talk about a great combination!

That’s right, no more messy monster for this girl. No more flour in unmentionable parts. No more flour in the hair. No more flour on the ceiling, flour, and refrigerator (it’s happened, believe me). I’m turning over a new, cleaner, flour free leaf this year.

Seriously. The only time I am warm is when I&rsquo;m at the gym working out or at home taking a hot shower. Clearly, I&rsquo;m reconsidering my decision to remain in the Midwest. Why didn&rsquo;t I pack up an move to LA or somewhere that is warm and sunny? I&rsquo;m not a winter person. This whole cold thing, no thanks!</p>

Nothing tops spending a day by the pool, then coming home to throw something on the grill. The smoky flavor that subtle comes through the taste of whatever marinade you decide to put on your meat or fish…the juices of a burger sizzling over the hot coals…that slightly charred smell that signals perfection. Mmmmmm…I can almost smell the fire!

I know, I know, I know. I always say I’ll post more, and then I don’t. There has been a little bit of a family crisis going on. Well, actually, a big one. My grandfather has been in the hospital, in ICU, for the last three weeks, so all my free time has been spent driving to my hometown and sitting in his room, talking to him, holding his hand, and trying to help out as much as possible. That hasn’t left room for cooking or writing.

I know it is the traditional Christmas/Holiday drink, but I’m not a fan of just any creamy drink. Especially ones with eggs in them. Every time I’d pass by the eggnog in the dairy section, my tummy would turn just a little bit.

Football is almost over, the once beautiful fluffy snow is now grey slush, there are no days off to look forward to, no parties to get all dolled up for in a little black cocktail dress, the sun hasn’t shown it’s face in weeks, and it has been too cold to go snowboarding. Thanks, but I’m ready for winter to be over!

And when I’m stressed, there are four things that either take my mind off the reasons for stress or help me cope with the stress. Baking, cleaning, writing, and um…well…I’m sure you can guess the last one.

You know, the one you can whip up in your sleep. The one that when you really want to impress someone, you pull this one out. Mine is a miso marinated sea bass. Not only is this my go to dish when trying to impress someone, it is also my go to dish when I just can’t think of anything else to make.

All different types normally, but this year, the only kind I felt like making were sugar cookies. With edible glitter. Because I think that glitter makes everything BEAUTIFUL! The restaurant I work at has the most amazing Christmas decorations (almost as awesome as my lovely Christmas tree, but not quite…). The restaurant has Christmas trees made out of FORKS! They are so cool! And covered in glitter, which means there is glitter EVERYWHERE! I love it!!!! Some say I have a strange obsession with glitter. I don’t know why anyone would think that…I mean, I only walk into the restaurant everyday and sprinkle glitter all over my hair and chest. That’s normal…right?
